Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?
At the HR Practice we partner with SME’s and entrepreneurial businesses to provide HR solutions to support them through their growth journey. The inspiration for the business was a bittersweet situation. My father in law as at end of life and I was sitting by his beside reflecting on my own life and career and decided in that moment to leave my well paid job and set up on my own to support SME’s on a growth journey who need expert advice without the cost of hiring a HR team!
Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey?
Be patient it takes time to establish a business.
What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?
Learn that I can’t do everything myself and I need to outsource work and create a team who can support the business growth.
What is your number 1 business tip for success?
Be visible, get out and meet people.
What are the big business goals for 2024?
We are currently working with our Business Advisors on the 5 year plan so watch this space….

If we did all the things we were capable of, we would astound ourselves” – Thomas Edison, inventor. We waste so much time with negative self talk and doubting ourselves and this quote really turns that on its head. I mentor people who are looking to change careers or progress in their chosen field and I always have this quote front of mind.
