Welcome to the Glasglow Girls Club (GGC)!

Hey there, GGC Facebook Group members! Whether you’ve just joined or have been here since 2016, we’re thrilled to have you in our community of 48K+ amazing women. Our Facebook group was created as a safe, positive, and empowering space to share advice, recommendations, and all the good vibes that put the GLOW in Glasgow. 🌟

Not in the group yet and wondering what it’s all about? Click here to join our community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/glasglowgirlsclub

To keep our group fun, supportive, and drama-free, we’ve got some simple guidelines. Think of these as our GGC golden rules—designed to protect the vibe and make your experience as enjoyable as possible. By being here, we truly appreciate your agreement to follow these guidelines and help us keep GGC a fab community to be part of.

🌟 The Golden GGC Rules 🌟

1. Be Kind, Always.

Kindness is our non-negotiable. This is a judgment-free zone, so let’s lift each other up, not tear each other down. If you see a post you’re not a fan of, but it’s not breaking any rules, just scroll on by.

2. Healthy Debates, Not Drama.

We love a good chat, but if it gets too spicy 🌶️ (aka full of member conflict), we may step in to cool things down or simply remove the comments or the post entirely. Respect is key!

3. No Hate or Harmful Content.

This includes bullying, name-calling, or anything discriminatory. Play nice, or you’ll be shown the exit. 🚪

4. Keep It In the Group.

Sharing screenshots or private posts outside the group? Big no-no. What happens in GGC stays in GGC.

5. Respect Privacy.

No sharing personal details of others or identifiable photos without consent. Let’s keep everyone feeling safe and secure.

6. Anonymous Posts.

You can post anonymously if you prefer, but remember, admin can see who you are. Not everyone may have access to this feature—that’s determined by Facebook, not us—but if it’s available, feel free to use it for privacy. Please be aware of the amount of detail you share in anonymous posts, too much info can give away your identity to others who may know you in the group.

7. Report, Don’t Respond.

Seen something dodgy? Don’t engage—just report it to admin. We have 70K-100K comments going into our group every month, so we appreciate any member who helps us to keep the kind and uplifting ethos of the group going.

8. Skip the Spams and Scams.

No unapproved selling, recruiting, or anything shady. Trust is everything here.

9. Sensitive Content.

Posting something sensitive? It might be useful to others to add a TRIGGER WARNING or the text SENSITIVE CONTENT at the top with details, so members know what to expect. Admin will decide if the post is appropriate for the group. These posts we tend to keep for ‘Supportive Sunday’

10. No Drama, Just Respect.

We’re not here to settle disputes or take sides. Posts causing conflict or going against our ethos will be removed/ declined at admin’s discretion.

11. Use Threads and Search.

Posting about popular topics? Check out our threads or use the search bar first to avoid repeats.

12. Fundraising Requests.

For registered charity fundraising, email us first with an overview and verified letter. While we love personal fundraising efforts, we can’t approve these as we can’t verify them and sadly we have heard of loads of scams in other Facebook groups linked to personal fundraising, protecting our community from this is top priority.

13. Nothing That Goes Against Facebook Community Standards

To keep GGC running, we must comply with Facebook’s Community Standards. Approving or posting content that violates these rules could result in the group being shut down. This includes discussing or selling anything illegal, selling animals (including personal rehoming—Facebook only allows rehoming through designated organisations), and similar activities.

14. Keep It Uplifting.

Political debates, naming-and-shaming, or contentious topics can ruin the vibe and lead to conflict, so let’s keep things positive and supportive. The same goes for venting about people or unnamed businesses. While we understand the need to let off steam, these posts often create a feed full of negativity, which isn’t what GGC is all about. For issues with businesses, Trading Standards or Citizens Advice are the best places to seek qualified advice.

💖 Supportive Sunday

Every Sunday, we dedicate the group to Supportive Sunday, a space for personal and more sensitive posts, including relationship or “agony aunt” topics. These posts may be triggering for some members, so having them on a set day allows the community to come together with purpose and care.

If you submit a personal post during the week, it may be declined with a suggestion to repost on Sunday. This approach ensures members who need support can find it while allowing others to engage with these posts intentionally.

Feeling low, this could be a day to check out of the group, or if you are looking for encouragement, then on Sundays you will find so much support and community spirit. We’re here for each other!

⚡ Admin Rights & Approvals

• Admin’s Got the Final Say: We reserve the right to remove posts or members without warning who go against the rules or disrupt the positive vibe.

• Not Every Post Will Be Approved: We can’t guarantee every post will make it into the group, especially if it’s repetitive or goes against our guidelines. Please don’t take it personally—we’re just trying to keep the feed fresh and engaging for everyone.

• Post Approvals: We’re a small but mighty team, so bear with us as we work through post approvals. If your post gets declined, we’ll let you know why.

• 2-Strikes Rule: If two or more of your comments are reported and removed, you’ll be removed from the group. This helps us maintain a positive space for everyone.

• Automation in Action: To help manage thousands of posts, Facebook’s auto tools sometimes remove flagged content. If this happens, feel free to reach out for clarification.
