Tell us about your business, the inspiration behind it and when you launched it?
I work as a freelance Virtual Assistant providing administrative assistance to entrepreneurs, small business owners and busy professionals without the cost and commitment of a permanent member of staff. You can choose how many hours you would like and how long for, offering both retainers and adhoc for clients.
When my son was born in 2022, my working life needed to change. I was looking for flexibility to choose how and when I worked but I just couldn’t find what I needed. Being a VA gives me the freedom I was desperately seeking! I started advertising my services in May own after being an employed VA for some time. Prior to being a VA, I worked in eCommerce marketplaces as a manager for a large retail company.
Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey?
It doesn’t happen overnight but stick with it and you’ll see results! Be consistent and authentic, clients will come.
What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge was believing in myself that I could do it – to overcome it, I just jumped in with both feet, handed in my notice and got stuck in! So far, touch wood, it’s working out!
What is your number 1 business tip for success?
I’m still early in the self employed game so I’m not sure I can give a tip for success just yet… Soon!
What are the big business goals for the next year?
My biggest business goal is to grow my clients to get to a point I’m at full capacity.

What’s the dream?
Personally, a happy and healthy family and country living with no neighbours.
Business, growing to the point my partner can also work in the business to allow us both to be there for our son. I’d also love one day to have other VAs working with me!
