Name, business name – Dawn, Snowy Garden Scents

Tell us about your businesses, the inspiration be-hind it and when you launched it? – I have always been at the top in business, whether that be at store manager level or running our previous business. But the time came where I was ready to have something that was my own. I had originally had the idea for my business about 6 months prior but it wasn’t the right time. Then in January 2022 I did a course which really changed me and my thinking, and it was at the end of January I knew it was the right time as the ideas and plans just flowed. From the companies I had seen they were all doing the same fragrances but I wanted something a bit different. So I researched and found my starting scents and here we are. We now stock a mixture of unique and inspired as there are just scents you can’t help but have. I launched the business at the end of March and it’s just gone from strength to strength and very excited to see how year 2 goes, as we do have some exciting things coming up.

Best piece of advice you were given at the start of your business journey? – was more a few months after I started and it was ‘no one is you, let you shine’ and’ Branding is like an iceberg, you need to look below the water’

What has been your biggest lesson/ challenge faced so far and how did you overcome it? – don’t put all your eggs in one basket, believing there is light at the end of tunnel, its slowly trying to get through

What is your number 1 business tip for success? – Be you as no one can be you and be visible

What are the big business goals for 2023? – to find a couple a stockists and put plans in place for getting my own shop

How can the GGC Business membership help? – it will help with being visible, networking and creating connections with other business owners, and there is always learning to be done

What’s the dream? – Definitely to have my own shop, multi-purpose of course, must have a coffee shop as I love coffee
